Texas Roadhouse Seasoned Rice is a flavorful and fragrant side dish featuring perfectly cooked rice tossed with herbs and spices, inspired by the popular steakhouse. It’s an easy and delicious accompaniment to any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until water runs clear.
  2. In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
  3. Add the rice, butter, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to the boiling water.
  4. Stir well, reduce heat to low, and cover the saucepan with a tight-fitting lid.
  5. Simmer for 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and water is absorbed.
  6. Remove from heat and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes.
  7. Fluff the rice with a fork and stir in fresh parsley if desired.
  8. Serve hot as a flavorful side dish.

Notes

For added flavor, try cooking the rice in chicken broth instead of water or add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice before serving.
