  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place pie crust in a 9-inch pie plate.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, eggs, vanilla, and salt.
  4. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the bottom of the pie crust.
  5. Arrange pecan halves over the chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the sugar mixture over the pecans.
