Steak with Garlic Cream Sauce

Delicious homemade steak with garlic cream sauce served on white plate

A rich and savory steak dish topped with a smooth garlic cream sauce, perfect for an indulgent dinner that combines tender meat with flavorful creaminess.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ribeye steaks (8 oz each)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the steaks generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Add the steaks and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or to desired doneness. Remove steaks and keep warm.
  4. Reduce heat to medium and add butter to the skillet. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and stir, scraping the bottom of the pan to loosen browned bits.
  6. Add Parmesan cheese and thyme leaves, simmering until the sauce thickens slightly, about 3-5 minutes.
  7. Return steaks to the pan briefly to coat with sauce and heat through.
  8. Plate the steaks and spoon the garlic cream sauce over them. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

For an extra depth of flavor, sear the steaks in a cast-iron skillet and let the sauce reduce a bit longer for a creamier consistency.
