Ingredients

Scale
  • 20 wonton wrappers
  • 200g ground pork
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 egg, beaten (for sealing)
  • Oil for frying
  • For the chilli sauce:
  • 3 tbsp chili oil
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced
  • 1 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground pork, garlic, ginger, green onions, soy sauce, and sesame oil until well combined.
  2. Place 1 teaspoon of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper. Brush edges with beaten egg and fold to seal tightly.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Fry wontons in batches until golden and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together chili oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, garlic, ginger, and water to make the chilli sauce.
  5. Serve wontons hot, drizzled with chilli sauce or as a dipping sauce on the side.

Notes

For extra crunch, you can pan-fry the wontons after boiling them briefly, or add chopped peanuts to the sauce for texture.
