This vibrant spicy cranberry salsa is a delightful mix of sweet and savory, perfect as an appetizer or topping. It’s packed with fresh cranberries, jalapeño, and cilantro for a festive kick.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, pulse the cranberries until coarsely chopped. Be careful not to over-process.
  2. Transfer the cranberries to a medium bowl.
  3. Add the red onion, jalapeño, and cilantro to the bowl.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the orange juice, lime juice, honey, cumin, salt, and cayenne pepper (if using).
  5. Pour the dressing over the cranberry mixture and stir to combine.
  6. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  7. Serve chilled with tortilla chips, grilled chicken, or fish.

Notes

For a milder salsa, remove the seeds and membranes from the jalapeño. You can also add a tablespoon of chopped pecans or walnuts for extra crunch.
