Roast Beef in the Oven

This classic Roast Beef in the Oven is tender, juicy, and perfect for a comforting family dinner. It features simple seasoning and slow roasting for maximum flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (3 to 4 lb) beef roast (such as ribeye or sirloin)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper to create a marinade.
  3. Rub the marinade all over the beef roast evenly.
  4. Place the roast on a rack in a roasting pan.
  5. Roast in the oven for about 20 minutes per pound for medium-rare, or until an internal thermometer reads 130°F (54°C).
  6. Remove the roast from the oven and transfer to a cutting board; cover loosely with foil and let rest for 15 minutes.
  7. Meanwhile, pour beef broth and Worcestershire sauce into the roasting pan and stir to loosen browned bits.
  8. Slice the roast beef thinly and serve with the pan sauce spooned over the top.

Notes

For an even richer flavor, try marinating the beef overnight in the refrigerator before roasting.
