Freshly Baked Protein Banana Bread

This Protein Banana Bread is a moist and delicious way to enjoy a classic treat while packing in extra protein. Perfect for a post-workout snack or a healthy breakfast!

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup vanilla protein powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas. Add applesauce, honey/maple syrup, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, protein powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Fold in the chopped nuts (if using).
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Slice and serve.

Notes

For a richer flavor, try adding chocolate chips or a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar on top before baking.
