Matcha Latte Cookies

Delight in these soft and flavorful Matcha Latte Cookies, blending the rich earthiness of matcha with creamy latte notes in a perfect sweet treat.

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon matcha green tea powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons espresso or strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, matcha powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and cooled espresso until fully combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers remain soft.
  8. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Optional: Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

For a stronger latte flavor, drizzle melted white chocolate infused with matcha on top of the cooled cookies.
