Elevate your cheese board with this flavorful Marinated Cheese! Cubes of cheese are soaked in a zesty herb-infused oil, perfect for appetizers or snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces block cheese (such as cheddar, Monterey Jack, or mozzarella), cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh oregano, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the olive oil, red wine vinegar, minced garlic, oregano, thyme, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Whisk well to combine.
  2. Add the cheese cubes to the bowl with the marinade. Gently toss to coat all sides of the cheese.
  3. Transfer the marinated cheese to an airtight container.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Before serving, let the marinated cheese sit at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes to soften slightly.

Notes

Serve with crackers, crusty bread, or vegetables for dipping. You can also add olives, sun-dried tomatoes, or marinated artichoke hearts to the marinade for extra flavor.
