Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (3 ounces) ladyfingers
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1/2 cup cranberry liqueur (such as Grand Marnier or Cointreau), optional
  • 16 ounces mascarpone cheese, softened
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (12 ounce) can cranberry sauce, jellied or whole berry
  • Fresh cranberries and powdered sugar, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, combine cooled coffee and cranberry liqueur (if using). Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, being careful not to soak them completely.
  2. In a large bowl, beat mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and slightly thickened.
  3. In a 9×13 inch baking dish, arrange a layer of coffee-soaked ladyfingers.
  4. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  5. Spoon half of the cranberry sauce over the mascarpone layer.
  6. Repeat layers with remaining ladyfingers, mascarpone mixture, and cranberry sauce.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow flavors to meld.
  8. Before serving, garnish with fresh cranberries and a dusting of powdered sugar.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use espresso instead of coffee. You can also add a layer of shaved dark chocolate between the mascarpone and cranberry sauce for an extra touch of indulgence.
