Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 ounces Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup pickled jalapenos, diced
  • 2 tablespoons pickled jalapeno juice
  • 1/4 cup green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1 cup crushed Ritz crackers or pretzels, for coating

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, diced jalapenos, jalapeno juice, green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Mix well until fully combined.
  2. Fold in the crumbled bacon, reserving some for topping.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the cheese ball to firm up.
  4. Place the crushed Ritz crackers or pretzels in a shallow dish.
  5. Remove the cheese ball from the refrigerator and shape it into a ball.
  6. Roll the cheese ball in the crushed crackers or pretzels, pressing gently to adhere.
  7. Place the coated cheese ball on a serving plate and sprinkle with the reserved crumbled bacon.
  8. Serve immediately or refrigerate for later. Serve with crackers, vegetables, or pretzels.

Notes

For a spicier cheese ball, use more jalapenos or add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the mixture. You can also use a different type of cracker or nut for the coating.
