  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons rose water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, almond flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, vegetable oil, and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Mix in the rose water and vanilla extract.
  6. Alternately add the dry ingredients and buttermilk to the wet mixture, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chopped almonds gently.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  11. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
