Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add green beans and cook for 5 minutes, or until crisp-tender. Drain well.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the cooked green beans with olive oil and minced garlic.
  4. In a small saucepan, heat heavy cream over medium heat. Stir in Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Cook until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
  5. Pour the Parmesan cream sauce over the green beans and toss to coat.
  6. In a separate small bowl, combine panko bread crumbs and melted butter.
  7. Pour the green bean mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle the panko bread crumb mixture evenly over the top.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
  9. Let stand for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the Parmesan cream sauce. You can also use frozen green beans; just be sure to thaw and drain them well before using.
