Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup raspberry jam or preserves
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries
  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan.
  2. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat, then stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  3. Sift together cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder in a separate bowl. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, stirring until combined but not overmixed.
  4. Pour half the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Dollop half of the raspberry jam on top and use a knife to swirl it through the batter.
  5. Repeat layering with remaining batter and raspberry jam, swirling again to create a marbled effect.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  7. Remove from oven and cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
  8. Top with fresh raspberries and blueberries before slicing and serving.

Notes

For an extra burst of flavor, serve these brownies with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
