Fried Brie Bites

Delicious Fried Brie Bites with Honey Drizzle

These crispy fried brie bites are a decadent appetizer perfect for any party. Golden on the outside and gooey on the inside, they’re sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces brie cheese, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Honey or fruit preserves, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the brie cubes in the freezer for 30 minutes to firm up. This helps them hold their shape during frying.
  2. In three separate shallow dishes, place the flour (seasoned with salt and pepper), beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Remove the brie cubes from the freezer. Dredge each cube in the flour, then dip in the egg, and finally coat with the panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
  4. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a medium saucepan or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Carefully drop the breaded brie cubes into the hot oil, working in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  6. Fry for 15-20 seconds per side, or until golden brown and the brie is melted inside. Be careful not to overcook, as the brie will melt completely and leak out.
  7. Remove the fried brie bites with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  8. Serve immediately with honey or fruit preserves, if desired.

Notes

For an extra touch, sprinkle the fried brie bites with a pinch of flaky sea salt before serving. You can also serve them with a side of balsamic glaze or a drizzle of maple syrup.
