Irresistible French Silk Pie

Indulge in the decadent delight of a French Silk Pie! This classic dessert features a creamy, chocolatey filling in a flaky crust, topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.

  • 1 ½ cups chocolate wafer crumbs
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, melted and cooled
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • Chocolate shavings, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine chocolate wafer crumbs and melted butter. Press into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie plate.
  3. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Let cool completely.
  4. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in melted chocolate and vanilla.
  6. In a separate bowl, beat heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  7. Gently fold whipped cream into the chocolate mixture.
  8. Pour filling into the cooled pie crust.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
  10. Garnish with chocolate shavings before serving.

Notes

For an extra touch, dust the pie with cocoa powder before serving.
