This Double Chocolate Banana Bread is moist, decadent, and packed with chocolate flavor. It’s the perfect way to use up ripe bananas and satisfy your chocolate cravings!

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 3 medium)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the mashed bananas, oil, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra touch of chocolate, sprinkle additional chocolate chips on top of the batter before baking. Serve warm or at room temperature.
