Freshly prepared crispy cottage cheese tots on white plate

Cottage Cheese Tots are a light and protein-packed snack, perfect for a healthy bite or appetizer. Crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, they combine fresh cottage cheese with simple seasonings for an easy, tasty treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil or cooking spray for frying

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine cottage cheese, shredded cheddar, breadcrumbs, egg, green onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well incorporated.
  2. Shape the mixture into small tots or bite-sized cylinders using your hands.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease with olive oil or cooking spray.
  4. Cook the tots in batches for 3-4 minutes per side or until they turn golden brown and crispy.
  5. Remove from heat and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  6. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For extra crispiness, bake the tots at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through. Serve with a tangy ranch or spicy sriracha mayo for added flavor.
