  • 30 ounces frozen shredded hash browns, thawed
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 can (10.75 ounces) condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 pint (16 ounces) sour cream
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the thawed hash browns, melted butter, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, chopped onion, 1 1/2 cups of the shredded cheddar cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly combined.
  3. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  4. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
  6. Let stand for 5-10 minutes before serving.
