  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg

  • 3 to 4 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 cup colorful Christmas sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and baking powder; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until smooth.
  4. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
  5. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients, adding milk as needed to create a soft dough.
  6. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and slightly flatten each one.
  7. Dip the tops into the Christmas sprinkles, pressing lightly to adhere.
  8. Place cookies 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets.
  9. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until edges are just starting to brown.
  10. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
