  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
  • Orange slices, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter. Press mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan.
  3. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Beat in orange zest, orange juice, and vanilla extract.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in melted chocolate chips.
  5. Pour batter over crust.
  6. Bake for 55-65 minutes, or until center is almost set.
  7. Turn off oven and let cheesecake cool in oven with door ajar for 1 hour.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
  9. Garnish with orange slices before serving, if desired.

Notes

For a more intense orange flavor, add 1/4 teaspoon of orange extract to the batter. Serve chilled for the best taste and texture.
