  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for mousse)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt butter and stir in sugar, eggs, and 1 tsp vanilla extract.
  3. Beat in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until well combined.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips and spread batter evenly in the prepared pan.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs; cool completely.
  6. For the mousse, whip heavy cream, powdered sugar, and 1 tsp vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  7. Spread the chocolate mousse evenly over the cooled brownies.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before slicing and serving.
