  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  3. Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, and stir until combined.
  4. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix.
  5. Add the flour last and stir just until incorporated—do not overmix.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For an extra moist texture, try adding a tablespoon of sour cream or yogurt to the batter. Serve toasted with a little butter for a delightful treat.
