Chocolate Blossom Cookies

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 48 Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually blend dry ingredients into the creamed mixture.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips.
  7. Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets, about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are set but centers are still soft.
  9. Immediately press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie.
  10. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
