Homemade Cajun Sausage Pasta

A flavorful and creamy Cajun Sausage Pasta combining spicy sausage with tender pasta and a rich Cajun cream sauce, perfect for a comforting dinner.

  • 8 oz pasta (penne or rigatoni)
  • 12 oz Cajun sausage, sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced Cajun sausage and cook until browned, about 4-5 minutes.
  3. Add diced onion and bell pepper to the skillet and sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Sprinkle Cajun seasoning over the sausage and vegetables, stirring to coat evenly.
  6. Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring well. Let simmer for 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is creamy.
  8. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to combine with the sauce and sausage mixture. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired, then serve warm.

Notes

For an extra kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or serve with a side of garlic bread to complement the creamy Cajun flavors.
