Blueberry Pie Recipe

Overhead Shot of Freshly Baked Blueberry Pie

This classic blueberry pie is bursting with fresh, juicy blueberries in a flaky, golden crust. It’s the perfect dessert for any occasion, especially during blueberry season!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups fresh blueberries
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 box (14.1 ounces) refrigerated pie crusts
  • 2 tablespoons butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1 tablespoon milk or cream
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, gently mix blueberries, sugar, flour, lemon juice, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Line a 9-inch pie plate with one of the pie crusts.
  4. Pour the blueberry mixture into the crust.
  5. Dot the top with butter pieces.
  6. Top with the second pie crust. Crimp the edges to seal. Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  7. Brush the top crust with milk or cream and sprinkle with sugar.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly. If the crust starts to brown too quickly, cover the edges with foil.
  9. Let cool completely before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra special treat.
