Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and water until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add garlic and ginger; sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add sliced beef and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove beef from the skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add onion, bell peppers, and broccoli. Stir fry for 4-5 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.
  6. Return beef to the skillet and pour in the sauce mixture. Stir well and cook for another 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens and coats the beef and vegetables.
  7. Drizzle with sesame oil, adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
  8. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired and serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

For added flavor, marinate the beef in a little soy sauce and garlic for 30 minutes before cooking. Serve with jasmine rice or noodles for a complete meal.
