Air Fryer Churro Bites

  • 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for coating)
  • Cooking spray or oil for air fryer basket

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine water, 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar, salt, and vegetable oil; bring to a boil.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in flour until mixture forms a ball.
  3. Allow dough to cool slightly for 5 minutes.
  4. Transfer dough to a mixing bowl; beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and lightly spray the basket with cooking spray.
  6. Using a small cookie scoop or spoon, portion dough into 1-inch balls and place in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each.
  7. Air fry bites for 8–10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway, until golden and cooked through.
  8. In a small bowl, mix 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon.
  9. Immediately toss warm churro bites in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat evenly.
  10. Serve warm with optional dipping sauces like chocolate or caramel.
